How to use: pick a count, industry and entity type, then press Generate. The CSV columns are company name, English name and industry. Leaving the entity type unspecified mixes prefix and suffix forms, which is useful for checking how your layout handles varying name lengths.

Frequently asked questions

What is this dummy company name generator?

A free tool that randomly generates fictional Japanese company names in both Japanese and romanized English, with a choice of industry and legal entity type. It is handy for test data, demo screens, screenshots and database seeding. Generate any number at once and copy or download as CSV.

Are the generated company names real?

Each name is a random combination of a stem and a suffix and does not refer to any specific real company. A random result may still coincide with a real trade name, so check against the Japanese corporate number registry before using a name in published material.

Can I control where the legal entity type appears?

Yes. Japanese companies write the entity type either before the name (maekabu) or after it (atokabu). You can pick either, choose goudou gaisha (LLC), or drop the entity type entirely. Leaving it unspecified mixes all four, which is useful for checking how your layout handles varying name lengths.
