How percentages are calculated

A is what % of B

Divide A by B and multiply by 100. For example, 30 out of 120 is 30 / 120 x 100 = 25%.

What is A% of B

Multiply B by A and divide by 100. For example, 15% of 2000 is 2000 x 15 / 100 = 300.

% change from A to B

Compute (B - A) / A x 100. A positive value is an increase, a negative value a decrease. From 200 to 250 is +25%.
